The west branch of Owego Creek is a very good quality trout stream. Most of the trout water is located above the village of Speedsville. The upper section has a good, constant flow of cold, clear water year-round. The stream flows through farmland and woodlands and generally has a good amount of bank cover. Except for its general lack of deep pools, the upper reaches of the west branch provide very good habitat for wild brook trout and stocked and wild browns.
