The Cayuga and Seneca Canal connects Cayuga Lake and Seneca Lake with the New York State Barge Canal. Despite the fact that it is a short, man-made body of water, the Cayuga and Seneca Canal presents remarkably diverse environments. Fishing is largely restricted to the weedy sides of the canal, including the edges of many islands found along the canal and the mouths of major tributaries.
