The Salmon River has made Oswego County famous for fishing, but the county has a wealth of
other excellent fishing waters. The Mad River, pictured above, is one of the most beautiful
streams in the region. Flowing through a remote, picturesque forest area, this river consists of
fast-moving, shallow runs and cascades flowing over a bottom of bedrock and rubble. Wild brook
trout are found throughout this tree-lined river.
